Arthur Smith Whined Like a Bitch That Dennis Allen Ran Up the Score on Him in What Should Be His Last Act as Falcons Head Coach
Man, this guy sucks so much. Arthur Smith just got his ass kicked in a game in which the Falcons still had a chance to win the NFC South — despite all of his other missteps this season — and he's mad at Dennis Allen for scoring a late touchdown instead of taking a knee in a rivalry game. How about you don't put yourself in a position to lose by 31 points, pal?
I can understand being slightly upset that the Saints lined up like they were going to take a knee and ran a play the goal line instead, but it's still your job to stop them. The game isn't over until the clock is at 0:00.
We can only hope there's a silver lining on the way that this was Smith's final act as Atlanta's head coach. A team with Bijan Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts and the NFL's ninth-best scoring defense coming into today finished 7-10 — for a third straight season, by the way — because this guy simply doesn't know how to properly manage a team. You could give Smith the '99 Rams offense and he'd find a way to average 13 points a game.
If the roles in this game were reversed, I'd want the Falcons to put another touchdown up on the Saints because that's the fun thing to do when you're kicking your rival's ass. Unfortunately, the opportunities for Atlanta to kick anyone's ass under Smith have been few and far between.
What's bullshit wasn't Dennis Allen scoring another touchdown, it's this roster not making the playoffs despite having plenty of talent and playing in one of the worst divisions we've ever seen.
UPDATE: It seems like Jameis Winston may have changed the play at the line of scrimmage and run the fake-knee-handoff on his own, which makes this entire situation infinitely funnier.
